Lament

I’m dying:

chambers in my head

lock secrets I’ve tended

to–eyes see through,

worldly lies–

a scenic route

tearing at the alter:

hear, this soul, quiet confessional.

Have I gone?

No, says longings-

Open windows with refusal to close.

Blink.

A tear awakens fruitless yawning.

Echoes of my loss–Your finding.

Won’t you let Me in;

My scars wash away

guilt harboring your heart.

Fear clings-a necklace

embedded in the collar beneath your skin.

You die to the world-

misery captured in tongues

composed of sin, planting seeds of mockery.

Never on behalf of Me.

Come out of hiding,

I’m waiting to find you,

to keep for an eternity.
