this day you came

From what I know of friendship, 

is the ache

distance impresses on 

the heart, so tender

from the start. But today 

I know the upturn your mouth 

points, thanking God for life,

this day you blow out candles –

shining in rejoice.

when your friends are long distance, you write them poems on their birthday. Today’s Megan’s birthday, and she just got the first of 3 gifts from  me, not including this. Loving your friends is the best.
