Shine On Award

Screen shot 2013-07-01 at 11.41.17 AM

When I woke up this morning, I was expecting to yawn and then jump into my devotional reading for the morning. This was definitely a surprise, considering I only started this blog in March. I am humbled and thankful to Jesus for blessing me with the ability to write. It is honestly something I want to spend my whole life doing for Him. If I am changing lives and spreading His light through observations in my own life, then I also have Him to thank. Thank you, Project Light To Life ( for nominating me. πŸ™‚

Here are the award’s rules:

1. Display the award logo on your website

2. Link back to the person who kindly nominated you.

3. Share seven things about your lovely self:
-1. I have Cerebral Palsy, which just means I can’t walk on my own without support. (i.e holding onto someone’s hand, using a walker, or quad cane.)
-2. I’m a very shy + introverted person. Seriously, if you put me in a room with good music or a book, I’m fine for an entire day.
-3. Some of my favorite musical artists right now are The Walla Recovery, Ellie Holcomb, Sleeping At Last, Josh Garrels, Timbre, etc. Pretty much anything Christian, and acoustic.
-4. Sometimes I find absolutely necessary to revisit my childhood. Rugrats, Hey Arnold, The Amanda Show, Vegietales. I know I’m not the only one who likes to be childish πŸ™‚
-5. If you were to bring me anything to do with chocolate or poetry or books, we are bound to be friends.
-6. I constantly have a need to read many different books, but find it increasing difficult to finish them. Half the time it’s because I don’t want them to end. (I’m looking at you C.S. Lewis collection..)
-7. I would love to be able to play guitar.

4. Choose fifteen bloggers to nominate for this award, and ensure you link them back to the award page:

Congratulations, nominees!! Please take a moment to check these out & the people behind them!

(I’m so sorry for the heavy linkage. For some reason I can’t create links to each blog, so I just gave each link..)

    • You’re welcome! πŸ™‚ and hahaha, so glad to know I’m not the only one! I’ve been watching Rugrats and wishing they would put all the old shows on Nick just one night..before midnight that is.

      • I know, right? I can’t say I watch cartoons anymore, but I remember the old ones being so good. not sure if it’s just a product of be being a kid/nostalgia, but dem toons was da best

      • Totally. I find it funny that when you grow up, you still go back to what you had/watched as a kid. I will never understand why when you’re a kid, you want to grow up. Then when you’re an adult, you want to be a child. All I can see is that we’re made to be kids.

      • well, your personality doesn’t need to ‘grow up’ per se, but I know when I was a kid I’d give anything to be able to reach the cookies on top of the fridge

      • hahaha, that’d be kind of a trick for me..let’s just say I’d be hugging the fridge for dear life while trying to jump up to reach the top πŸ™‚ and I never thought of it that way..I’m learning this the hard way, that changing who you are to fit what others feel is best for you sucks the child right out of you.

      • never too late to stay the same πŸ™‚ I’m pretty sure you’re not the only one who wants to be a kid (I, 4 1). Sometimes you just gotta be silly, and who knows, you might loosen everyone up around you and then more fun happens n stuff because everyone’s comfy with who they are all of a sudden. And if they don’t think it’s acceptable, then I’m reminded of a doctor seuss quote…

      • True thattt, mann. I totally read the last part and thought it read: and if they don’t it’s acceptable, then I recommend a doctor. Hahaha. No one is youer than you & indulges in the delicacy of green eggs and ham! πŸ™‚
